Boothbay Maine Region – A Taste of Spring: Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens ~ Open year round!

Do you need a quick reminder of spring, which is — hard to believe —right around the corner? Maybe it’s time to update your landscaping projects?
Check out the 250-acre botanical garden in Boothbay. Free admission from now through March. They offer some great workshops about all things gardening, can suggest some wonderful-sounding “garden getaway” travel packages, and offer a yummy-sounding Kitchen Garden Series Dinners, prepared by visiting guest chefs from Maine. Camden Winterfest – January 29, 2010
Here is a fun event for kids of all ages: Camden Winterfest, on Saturday, Jan. 29 ,in Camden. Take a little jaunt up the coast with or without snow! An excellent family event. Horse and wagon rides are offered free of charge. A merry band of culinary volunteers will serve a variety of delicious hot soups donated by local restaurants, light snacks, and their “world-famous” Arctic Grilled Cheese Sandwich. The main attraction of Winterfest is the Community Ice Carving Event. Community members transform ordinary blocks of ice into crystalline ice sculptures using traditional tools of the ice-carving artisan. Presented by The Camden Public Library.
